dried hydrangeas...

One of my new finds from back in June finally found the perfect nesting space, well for now at least...

Love this big old white canister full of my dried hydrangeas...

I am not sure about the lamp anymore though.
I think I would like one a little more cottagey looking instead of this french look...

Any suggestions...

Paint the lamp white, add crystals and decorate the shade a bit, adding fabric, lace or just get a new off white one! voila! new lamp!

Oh, I so love your new find and your dried hydrangeas! Love the piece they are sitting on too! I think the lamp works, you could always paint it white for a more shabby chic feel, but I think it looks shabby now!

Love the idea of burlap on the shade, too!

Hydrangeas are so pretty...do you "burn" the edges of the stem to seal in the milky stuff - or just let them dry on their own> As for your lamp, have you considered painting the base a light sand or gray (or combo of both) to soften it...not sure what else in in the room but maybe even the color of your hydrangeas??

Those hydrageas are gourgeous! I can't tell that they are dried at all. I agree with everyone who said to pain the lamp white!

Such a fabulous canister, looking perfect with those pretty hydrangeas and sachet(?) on the table. Simply lovely Sandi!

I agree Sandi...paint the lamp white and it would do wonders for it. You could also change out the shade if you want to for a more cottage looking one.
Love your hydrangeas!! I just picked a bunch of mine yesterday too! Great minds think alike. :)

Oh, ich liebe die Hydrangeas auch sehr und habe sie überall im Garten angepflanzt. Sie passen perfekt auf die Kommode - die Lampe ist allerdings nicht so mein Fall. Herzliceh Gruesse

I paint the lamp white and perhaps cover the shade with a floral fabric.

Hi Sandi:

I agree with everyone who said paint it white. I think you'll have to play around with the shade. Love the burlap idea. Maybe add some handmade fabric roses to that? Then there's always to "bling" it up kind of shade...lace, vintage buttons, rhinestones. Like I said, I think it depends on the look you want.
I LOVE the color of your hydrengeas!

Your blue hydrangeas still look so pretty. I did manage to pick some pretty green ones from my annabelle. The green gives a fresh look to the room.
